Youth and Community Groups Fund - round 2

We are pleased to announce round 2 of the UNBOXED Youth and Community Group Visits Fund.

We invite youth and community groups based within the UK to apply for funding of up to £1,500 to cover the costs of visiting SEE MONSTER in Weston-super-Mare or About Us in London. Funding can be used to cover the costs of your visit, such as staffing, transport and access requirement support.  

Eligibility  

Any youth, community group or similar not for profit organisations in the UK is eligible to apply for the opportunity, with the exception of groups who have already received funding to visit an UNBOXED commission. This includes but is not limited to:   

  • Youth groups - youth services, clubs and organisations  

  • Home educator networks  

  • Community groups, including informal local community groups  

  • Registered not for profit organisations and charities

To apply: complete the Youth and Community Group Visits Fund application form

  • Applications run on a rolling basis until all funds have been allocated.   

  • Applicants will find out if they have been successful within 7 days of UNBOXED receiving their application.  

  • Successful groups will be selected based on answers provided on the application form. We particularly welcome applications from groups who face barriers to attending cultural events.  

  • UNBOXED events are available to visit until 20 November. The deadline for applications is 5pm on 14 November 2022.  

 

Receiving payment  

In most instances groups will be reimbursed expenses after their visit. If your group requires payment upfront in order to participate, we will try to accommodate this, please contact: learn@unboxed2022.uk.   

Groups are required to provide valid receipts of expenses they are claiming.     

Expenses of up to £1,500 per group can be claimed to cover expenses associated with your visit. This can include staffing costs, travel* and specialist support for any accessibility needs of your group.  

(*Public transport must be booked in the lowest available class on trains.)  

On the application form you will be required to provide a quote for expenses you wish to claim. We understand there may be small changes to the final amount but please try to make it as accurate as possible by researching prices before submitting your application.   

We will not be able to reimburse additional claim items which are not specified in your application form.    

  

Terms and conditions  

Leaders of any youth, community group or not for profit organisation in the UK is eligible to apply for the opportunity subject to the terms below.  

  1. The UNBOXED Youth and Community Group Visits Fund is open until14 November 2022. Applications after this date will not be considered  

  1. It is open to any youth, community group or organisation in the UK. The person submitting the application must be at least 18 years old.  

  1. Group leaders are required to arrange the details of the visit themselves, this includes booking all travel, accommodation and staffing required. Please check the website of the event you wish to visit for booking and arrival information. Some events require advance booking.   

  1. Each group must have at least one person aged 18 or over on their visit. 

  1. To enter, Participants must complete an online form. Successful groups will be selected based on answers provided on the application form and at the total discretion of UNBOXED.  

  1. Expenses of up to £1,500 per group can be claimed to cover expenses associated with your visit. This can include staffing costs, travel* and specialist support for any accessibility needs of your group. We will not be able to reimburse additional claim items which are not specified in your application form. *Public transport must be booked in the lowest available class on trains.  

  1. Groups will be required to supply valid receipts in order to be reimbursed their expenses. Where groups have requested payment upfront they will still be required to supply receipts after their visit, if the full amount has not been spent any remainder must be returned to Unboxed.  

  1. Groups who have previously been awarded funding through the UNBOXED Youth and Community Group Visits Fund are not eligible to apply.  

  1. Any consent required for attendance and all health and safety risk assessments will be carried out by the group leader and full responsibility for group members wellbeing sits with the leader  

  1. Fund allocations carry no cash value, are non-transferable and may not be substituted by the successful group or organisation.   

  1. By applying, the lead contact consents to their personal information being used by UNBOXED for the purposes of operating this Fund. UNBOXED reserves the right to publish the winning group’s names and location for further advocacy and press opportunities.  

  1. These terms and conditions will be governed by English law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in relation to any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions.  

  1. Application to the UNBOXED Youth and Community Group Visits Fund signifies acceptance of these terms and conditions.
