Duration

60 minutes

This 60-minute lesson plan explores the idea that everyone can make a difference to the wider world.

Pupils aged 7–11 will be encouraged to consider how their thoughts can feed into big ideas and collective acts that can change the world. Working together, they will produce an artwork about what they think is powerful about their voice, and their feelings about the future for children around the world. The lesson plan has been inspired by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the basis for all UNICEF’s work around the world.

Together We Can Make a Difference is part of We Are All Connected, a set of five 60-minute learning resources exploring children’s values and rights. Developed for Dreamachine by A New Direction in partnership with UNICEF UK, the eight-page PDF lesson plan includes plenty of prompts for discussions, plus links and resources for further learning.
