Tour de Moon and PXSSY PALACE are set to take over London Short Film Festival (LSFF) at BFI Southbank on 27 January 2023 with a programme of 11 short films that were originally commissioned as part of UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK for Tour de Moon. Tickets are now available for a special night of screenings, culminating in an event hosted by PXSSY PALACE.

This year, Tour de Moon invested in hundreds of young and emerging creatives to develop new bold and imaginative creative projects, primarily by 18-to-25-year-olds, across the UK and beyond. This included the 11 commissioned filmmakers whose work is screening at LSFF.

In January 2023, LSFF celebrates 20 years of unique, radical programming in cinemas across London, with another festival edition full of screenings and events. This year, supported by the BFI Audience Fund awarding funds from the National Lottery, the festival partners with multiple film collectives and valued co-programmers alongside significant media partners, with the aim of elevating and championing new filmmaking talent in the UK and globally, and reaching back into the archive to unearth untold stories.

At LSFF's Industry Hub at Rich Mix on Friday 27 January, the commissioned Tour de Moon filmmakers will take part in one-to-one advice sessions with film industry experts and representatives of distributors and platforms including MUBI, Netflix and BFI Network.

PXSSY PALACE, who previously collaborated with Tour de Moon festival in their summer event at the oldest youth club of the UK - Pedro Youth Club - is curating and hosting the after party. PXSSY PALACE is an arts platform rooted in intentional nightlife, celebrating black, indigenous and people of colour who are women, queer, intersex, trans or non-binary. They provide space to dance, connect and engage, whilst encouraging consent, sexual freedom, pleasure, expression and exploration of our authentic selves.

Tour de Moon festival founder Dr. Nelly Ben Hayoun-Stépanian, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with the London Short Film Festival now celebrating their 20 years of championing short filmmakers and their unbounded creativity. We are also so excited to collaborate with our partners in crime, art platform PXSSY PALACE to offer audiences an opportunity to take part in one of the most cosmic after parties the earth has to offer! At Tour de Moon we hope this event taking place in the Festival hub at the renowned BFI Southbank will bring true opportunities to young filmmakers and amplify a plurality of young creative voices showcasing their talents and radical imagination. Tour de Moon travels with the night, seeking new beginnings to empower others to create, initiate and innovate with new thinking and pluralistic practices so that history does not repeat itself on and beyond Earth.”
