What might we like to see in our ideal world?

This lesson plan begins by inviting pupils aged 7–11 to consider what education means for them and children everywhere. They will then work collaboratively in small groups to create an imaginary world that includes three things about education and three things about the environment that they value the most. By discussing what they value, they will consider how their voice might contribute to making a difference in the world.

Imagine a World is part of The World Around Us, a set of five 60-minute learning resources exploring children’s values and rights. Developed for Dreamachine by A New Direction in partnership with UNICEF UK, the eight-page PDF lesson plan includes plenty of prompts for discussions, plus links and resources for further learning.
