What does it mean to be part of a worldwide community of children?

This lesson plan helps pupils aged 5–7 to explore their thoughts and feelings about themselves, and to reflect on how they see their place in the world. Through an introduction to the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child, the basis for all UNICEF’s work worldwide, the resource also helps to facilitate discussions with pupils around their rights and freedoms to express themselves.

How We Feel About Our World is part of The World Around Us, a set of five 60-minute learning resources exploring children’s values and rights. Developed for Dreamachine by A New Direction in partnership with UNICEF UK, this nine-page PDF lesson plan includes plenty of prompts for discussions, plus links and resources for further learning.
