Pupils aged 7–11 will explore how they really feel in this activity-led lesson plan – while also considering how they can help their friends to feel better. After considering things that make them feel happy or grateful, pupils will be invited to write a letter to a classmate who is having a bad day, supporting them with kind words to improve their wellbeing. The lesson ends with group reflection and discussion on the importance of wellbeing.

What Is Wellbeing to Me? is part of Me & My Wellbeing, a set of five 60-minute learning resources for pupils aged 5–11 that explore key personal development themes. Developed for Dreamachine by A New Direction, this eight-page PDF lesson plan includes plenty of prompts for discussions, plus links and resources for further learning.
