This lesson plan for pupils aged 5–7 demonstrates the importance of breathing to our wellbeing. The lesson plan is centred on a short activity sequence that focuses on the art of breathing, and explores how our breath is affected by everything we do. As pupils begin to visualise their breath, they will better understand breathing as a unique means of expression and self-awareness – and will learn how to manage their emotions by changing the rhythm of their breath.
