Duration

60 minutes

This 60-minute programme explores hepatocyte transplantation, a new technique that can have great benefits for the human liver – and also introduces pupils to the possibilities of an exciting career in science.

The 18-minute film features liver specialist Dr Charlotte Lee discussing her work and giving a brief introduction to the liver: what it does, how it works, and how it can be repaired via cell transplantation. The fun activity on the two-page learning sheet shows how to look at the different structures that make up an animal cell using a biscuit and some topping treats.
